About Ben

Ben's love of and talent for woodworking came from his grandfather, who was a carpenter in Sweden. Ben began working with wood in junior high — where Wood Shop was his best class. His interest has only grown since then starting with those first simple projects and progressing to his current level: building and helping design kitchens, wood furniture, and many other kinds of custom cabinetry. If it's wood and custom, Ben can do it!

When Ben isn't in the shop building beautiful things, he can be found be found playing with his tractors, getting ready for the Scott Carver Threshers' Old Time Harvest Festival, which happens every year during the first weekend of August. (Click here to see the sign Ben created for them!) Or up in Ely in his retirement home, Castle Rock (whose interior was designed and built, of course, by Ben. Well, his wife was the chief painter...)
